Giant 4-Star Offensive Lineman Announces Commitment

AUSTIN, Texas –Four-Star Nick Brooks has announced his commitment to Texas Friday afternoon. Brooks is Texas’ No. 17 commitment for its class.

The 6-foot-8, 345 pound offensive tackle recently transferred from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to play in at Loganville, Georgia for his final season of high school ball. He chose the Longhorns over other finalists Alabama, Texas and USC.

Brooks initially committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes last September before backing off his pledge a few months later following the removal of then offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz. He is the No. 142 overall recruit in the nation for 2025, No. 14 offensive tackle and No. 20 player in the state of Georgia.

The giant OT has over 30 offers from programs around the country including Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas A&M. He would go on to take several official visits most notably with the Bulldogs, Trojans, Longhorns and Hawkeyes.

Texas sits at No. 13 in 247sports recruiting rankings with the commitment of Brooks which gives the program its tenth 4-star pledge of the class. As for the Longhorns position among other SEC programs, they still remain No. 8 in the newly expanded league. The class is headlined by 5-star wideout Kaliq Lockett from Sachse who committed earlier this month.
