KNOXVILLE — Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel has put away any semblance of an inability to recruit at a high level consistently.

The Volunteers’ received an endorsement Friday with On3’s Steve Wiltfong logging a expert prediction that consensus 5-star offensive tackle David Sanders will pledge to the Vols.

Sanders will announce his commitment next Saturday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. EST. He is the No. 3 prospect in the country and the best tackle prospect in the 2025 class, according to 247sports.

The 6-foot-6, 290 pound tackle has received more than 40 offers and has been named a MaxPreps All-American the past three seasons while also earning an honor as an Addias All-American last year. Sanders will choose between Tennessee, Ohio State, Georgia and Nebraska next weekend.

In terms of being a perfect fit at the next level, Sanders has height, lengthy 36-inch arms, above average flexibility which allows him to engage with aggressive defenders. He moves well at nearly 300 pounds with a power clean over 350 pounds.

The Volunteers’ currently sit at No. 8 in the 2025 class rankings with 21 total commitments. Heupel’s class is spearheaded by 4-star quarterback George MacIntyre from Brentwood and 12 other 4-star prospects.
