Prospect Highlight: LSU Commit Bryce Underwood

BATON ROUGE — 2025 LSU quarterback commit Bryce Underwood has a chance to be special at the college level. With a high level of accuracy along with arm strength and athleticism, he has a chance to recreate Jayden Daniels special 2023 season.

Underwood heads into what technically should be his junior season but will complete high school early to begin his college career. A decorated prospect as two-time national player of the year honors from MaxPreps and Gatorade Player of the Year in Michigan in 2023 has made him a can’t miss prospect.

He’s passed for 8,979 yards, 120 touchdowns and only seven interceptions during his prep career with Belleville High School in Michigan. With LSU’s staff basically from the Midwest, primarily Michigan, a commitment to the Tigers from Underwood was an easy decision.

“Great coaching staff, amazing coaching staff, amazing atmosphere. The program itself is very historical. A lot of great players went in and out of Louisiana State University,” Underwood previously told Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports. “The food is amazing. It’s a lot of real people out there. A lot of people from Michigan. A lot of things we can relate to.”

Last week, Underwood was named to 247sports its 20-under-20 story. Other players like Arch Manning (Texas), Nyck Harbor (South Carolina), Avery Johnson (Kansas State). The LSU commit is the only player named to the list not to be enrolled in college which speaks of the expectations put on him.

His Belleville team lost in the state championship game a year ago at Ford Field to Southfield A&T 36-32. That loss snapped a 38-game winning streak for Underwood and the Tigers.
