Is Texas most hated team in college football among fans?
Josh Pate discusses how hated Texas actually is by folks who cheer for other other programs in the state

AUSTIN — The Texas Longhorns are sitting in a good spot compared to where the football program has been recently.
Two consecutive College Football Playoff appearances, Big 12 title, SEC runner-up and back-to-back 12-plus win seasons, coach Steve Sarkisian has them exactly where others couldn’t get them. While fans believe their program is most hated nationally, that might be far from the truth just yet.
Ohio State owns being the most hated team after winning the national title this season. Now, Texas may very well be the most hated in its state by numerous fanbases such as Texas Tech, Texas A&M, SMU, TCU, Texas State and many other colleges throughout the Lone Star demographic.

Where Hate Originates
Josh Pate hosts his own bi-weekly college football show and ventured around Texas and was able to gauge the proper amount of hate different fans around the country have for the Longhorns.
“I got a good taste of level of disdain for Texas,” Pate said. “It’s not that they hate you because they ain’t you, it’s that they just hate you.”
The hate for Texas was evident for Pate but just wait until they are lucky enough to win a national championship. The level of toxic hate will roam through college athletics like many have ever seen it, especially in the SEC.
“[Teams] should always long to be hated,” Pate said. “If you’re not hated, you’re irrelevant. So, it’s a compliment for Sarkisian and company to be hated.”
