SEC Football: Recruitment of 5-Star DL Heats up as Top Uncommitted 2025 Prospect
Georgia Bulldogs hope to earn commitment of uncommitted top-10 prospect
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — While most 5-star prospects have announced their commitments to programs across the country Elijah Griffin’s recruitment remains nearly a mystery.
The 6-foot-5, 285 pound mauler along the defensive line trimmed his choices from 40+ scholarship offers down to five schools that he will choose from. Griffin announced a top-three list of Georgia, USC and Miami July 28. However, the Savannah, Georgia native is yet to share when he will announce a commitment.
Griffin is the No. 4 player in the country, according to 247sports.com. He is also the No. 1 player at his position and No. 1 prospect in the Peach State. As a junior, Griffin racked up 97 tackles along with 31 tackles for loss and 17.5 sacks which helped his team reach the finals of the Georgia 3A state playoffs.
His efforts during combine tests were off the chart for a player his size with a vertical of nearly 35 inches and 5 second flat 40–yard dash. Griffin continues to refine his game each season and has become more dominant as a versatile defensive lineman which has helped him transform into one of the best athletes in his class.
If Griffin opts to remain in-state and play for the Bulldogs, he would join one of the best high school recruiting classes for 2025. Coach Kirby Smart has amassed the No. 4 ranked class this cycle which ranks behind Alabama and LSU in the SEC.
