Former 5-star SEC QB visits C-USA program known for offense

Quarterback Jaden Rashada was one of the more highly sought after quarterbacks in the 2023 class and is looking for an opportunity in Conference USA as he visits Western Kentucky this weekend.

The Hilltoppers have been a very consistent programs in the Group of Five ranks with 11 winning seasons over the past 14 years under five separate coaches.

Western Kentucky has become known as a quarterback friendly program as five different passers have posted 3,000-plus yards seasons.

With former starting quarterback Caden Veltkamp transferring to Florida Atlantic to join former Hilltoppers offensive coordinator Zach Kittley, Rashada could forge his way to a starting role rather quickly.

Rashada became a household name in the recruiting realm when he flipped to the Gators after initially committing to Miami.

After an alleged NIL mistake by Florida’s NIL collective, their failure to fulfill promise worth $13.85 million proved costly as the family attempted to sue Florida coach Billy Napier and booster Hugh Hathcock over the entire mess.

Eventually, Rashada signed with Arizona State, where his father played, and earned the starting job for the season opener.

The 6-foot-4, 200 pound passer started the first two games for the Sun Devils before missing the next nine, ultimately returning in the season finale against Arizona.

He completed 53% of his passes as a freshman for 485 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. Following the season, he entered the transfer portal once again, signing with Georgia.

However, he had been passed up by Gunner Stockton and others in the Bulldogs’ quarterback room and opted to transfer again. Now, looking to join his fourth program in three seasons, Rashada is hoping for a fresh start, playing time and hit reset button on his college career.
