Florida assistant makes decision regarding LSU DL job

GAINESVILLE — Florida Gators coach Billy Napier will not have to worry about starting another pre-spring coaching search this offseason.
Defensive line coach Gerald Chatman took an extensive look at LSU’s vacant defensive line job after Bo Davis opted for the same position with the NFL’s New Orleans Saints and new coach Kellen Moore. Chatman’s defensive front recorded 39 sacks (No. 16 nationally) and 86 tackles for loss (No. 32 nationally) in his first year with the Gators.

For Tigers coach Brian Kelly, he’ll continue to search for his fourth defensive line coach as he enters his fourth season in charge. This hasn’t only been Kelly’s problem either as LSU hasn’t retained a DL coach in eight seasons.
